To update Windows 10 you need to navigate to Windows update settings.
Settings >> Update & security >> Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
If Windows Update says that your PC is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.

- Go to Windows 10 Cortana and type “Settings” (it is the control panel in Windows 10) in the “Ask me anything” box.
- Once you get the result, click on “Settings” that will bring you to the below screen. In this screen click on “Updates & Security“.
- Next, when you see the “Check for updates” button just click on it and Windows 10 will start checking for updates in Windows 10.
- Once the new updates are discovered it will automatically start downloading them and then later installing them.
- If by any chance the Check for Updates failed. Just click the “Retry Button” and Windows 10 will again start checking for the updates. Or try Windows Update troubleshooter.
- During the whole process, your computer may restart several times. Don’t worry you can continue to work on your PC because Windows 10 will ask your permission before installing the updates and restarting the system.

Advanced Options in Windows 10: Click on the “Advanced Options” and you will see the below screen with some more options.
Here you can choose how updates are installed(see above screenshot). There are two options “Automatic (Recommended)” and “Notify to schedule restart“.
